“Surgeons can cut out everything except cause.” ― Herbert M. Shelton
Who hasn’t been sick?
Time to share your secrets from healing hands, wonder treatments, miracles and mysteries:
Prepare a 5-minute story about kind nurses, thorough doctors, bad hospital food, aches and pains, pre-op angst, the near fatal accident that only left you with stitches ; describe get well cards that tear you up; Mom’s chicken soup that strengthens your soul; a true tale of the people who saved you when you were under the weather, maybe almost under the ground; describe the ray of hope; a long road to recovery.
At the end of the evening, the audience chooses their Favorite story and this storyteller is invited to the annual Eve of the Champs in June 2024 at the historic Theater im Delphi.

HOST: Dyane Neiman

Host: Dyane Neiman
Not convinced by the advice “Germans will never tell personal stories”, the American choreographer Dyane Neiman began presenting monthly open stage shows for true, personal stories in 2015. Inspired by the popularity of live storytelling events in English-speaking countries, she created a gathering place for story lovers and including new Berliners, who may not speak German yet. THE bEAR has grown into a registered charity with the mission to make our communities more compassionate, one story at a time.
THE bEAR now celebrating its 81st show, has produced over 800 stories to regularly sold-out audiences - a telling sign that the ancient art of the raconteur is alive and well in Berlin.
WIth her business MOVING SPEAKER, Dyane coaches leaders from the international business world, sciences, arts, and non-profit sector to effectively share ideas in ways that will move people to action. You can find out more at: www.moving-speaker.com
Music: Felix Komoll
skillfully navigates the crossroads of improvisation and composed music, drawing inspiration from diverse cultural heritages. His music transcriptions from Bela Bartok's Mikrokosmos and adaptions of Prokofiev's violin solo sonata for concert guitar, have been performed by the Babylon Orchestra, among other ensembles. Published by Schell Music, Komoll's compositions traverse jazz, classical, sound installations, new music, and free improvisation. Felix thrives in collaborations which emphasize the universal language of music in its social, narrative, and energetic dimensions. Early exposure to music led Komoll to master piano and guitar, studying under luminaries like Prof. Siegfried Behrend and Carlo Domeniconi. His profound connection to the flute adds another layer to his rich artistic expression.
When he is not in the recording studio, with his bands, or sailing in Greece - he joins us regularly at THE bEAR accompanying the storytellers with his fine feeling for the unsaid between the lines.
